Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet is seeking an experienced Nondestructive Testing (NDT) professional to serve as the technical authority for Shipyard NDT operations in accordance with NAVSEA publications.

The role includes developing certification testing material for Level I/II personnel and conducting surveillance of NDT staff to ensure compliance with requirements. You will coordinate with Code 135/139, NDT training personnel, engineers, and shipyard leadership to resolve technical issues, oversee senior

Qualifications

• Specialized NDT quality-assurance work, including developing, evaluating, or approving NDT procedures or inspection plans.
• Experience conducting NDT personnel surveillances, audits, or program assessments for conformance with standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret source documents and act as the technical authority for all Shipyard NDT per NAVSEA publications.
• Develop certification testing material for examining and certifying NDT personnel (Level I/II).
• Conduct surveillance of NDT personnel; monitor reinspections and program assessments for compliance.
• Maintain liaison with NDT technical/training personnel and shipyard stakeholders to resolve technical problems.
• Oversee the Senior NDT method AOR to ensure requirements are met and method functions properly.
• Ensure adoption of latest technology and innovations into the shipyard NDT program.
