NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD is seeking a Nondestructive Test Inspector & Evaluator Supervisor I to lead NDT activities within the Quality Assurance Office. The role involves representing NDT at project meetings and coordinating with project managers to align inspection schedules with shipyard programs.

The position emphasizes leadership of a team, expertise in nondestructive testing methods, and ensuring timely, compliant inspections across submarine and ship repair projects.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead or supervise teams in a naval shipyard setting.
• Experience in nondestructive testing including Eddy Current, Radiography, Ultrasonic methods.

Responsibilities

• Represent the nondestructive test inspector at project meetings and strategy sessions.
• Plan work with Assistant Project Managers, Zone Managers and NDT Branch Head according to schedules.
• Determine the number and types of nondestructive test inspectors needed for assigned work.
• Supervise and review the work of subordinate nondestructive test inspection personnel and meet schedules.
