Job summary

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking experienced Level II NDT Technicians to support long-term industrial inspection projects in Iron Mountain, Michigan and Appleton, Wisconsin. Sign-on bonuses and relocation packages are available.

You will perform nondestructive testing, interpret results, and prepare detailed reports while ensuring safety and quality compliance. Prior experience in UT, MT, PT, VT and possibly RT/ET is preferred, with opportunities to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

  • ASNT Level II certification in one or more NDT methods is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nondestructive testing per customer specs, procedures, and codes.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate NDT equipment safely and accurately.
  • Conduct inspections using UT, MT, PT, VT, RT (if qualified), ET (if qualified).
  • Interpret results, identify defects, and document findings clearly.
  • Maintain equipment and calibration checks.
  • Mentor Level I technicians and trainees.

We are seeking experienced Level II NDT Technicians to support long‑term industrial inspection projects in Iron Mountain, Michigan and Appleton, Wisconsin. SIGN ON BONUSES AND RELOCATION PACKAGES AVAILABLE!

  • Perform nondestructive testing in accordance with customer specifications, company procedures, and applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate NDT equipment safely and accurately.
  • Conduct inspections using one or more of the following methods:
    • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
    • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
    • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
    • Visual Testing (VT)
    • Radiographic Testing (RT) (if qualified)
    • Eddy Current Testing (ET) (if qualified)
  • Interpret inspection results and identify discontinuities or defects.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and customer requirements.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and calibration checks.
  • Communicate inspection findings with supervisors, project managers, and customers.
  • Assist in mentoring Level I Technicians and trainees.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current ASNT Level II Certification (SNT‑TC‑1A or employer‑based equivalent) in one or more NDT methods.
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes, standards, and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass required drug screening, background check, and site‑specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Multiple Level II certifications (UT, MT, PT, VT, RT, ET)
  • State Carded Radiographer (if RT certified)
  • Rope Access (SPRAT or IRATA)
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, refinery, pipeline, or power generation environments.
  • TWIC Card (preferred)
