Job summary

Valley Forge & Bolt Mfg. seeks a certified Level II NDT Inspector to ensure products meet NDT specifications and VF standards. You will calibrate equipment, document logs, and fill out NCFs when issues arise while following WI and procedures on a safety-sensitive production floor.

The role requires basic computer skills, ability to work with multiple departments, and strong integrity. Lifting up to 50 lbs and PPE usage are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Must be certified Level II inspector with credentials.
• Ability to use basic hand inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauge).
• Basic computer knowledge (MS programs & company server).
• Strong work ethic, discretion with confidential information.
• HS Diploma or GED required; good verbal/written skills.

Job description

MUST BE CERTIFIED LEVEL II NDT INSPECTOR TO BE CONSIDERED

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

• Assure that products are compliant with NDT specification(s) and VF quality standards
• Calibration of equipment and record keeping
• Document daily/monthly logs and records
• Fill out NCF's, if issues are found with required information.
• Follow and establish W.I. and Procedures
• Safety Sensitive Position
• Other duties as needed or required

Work Environment:

• Primary work environment is the office and the production floor.
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) through the entire shift.
• Ability to be aware of surroundings for safety concerns.
• While performing duties of this job the employee will be required to frequently stand on their feet for extended periods of time. Occasion stooping and walking will be required.
• Employee maybe required to lead production shop tours.
• Employee will have meetings in the shop requiring the wearing of personal protective equipment.
• Ability to assist a machine operator to understand process flow.
• Ability to be aware of surroundings for safety concerns.
• Able to operate office equipment such as computers, copy machines, etc.
• Able to sit for prolonged time periods plus occasion walking to stooping.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• MUST BE CERTIFIED LEVEL II INSPECTOR WITH CERTIFICATIONS
• Ability to use all basic types of hand inspection equipment, i.e. hand tools (height gauge, caliper(s), micrometer(s))
• Basic computer knowledge (MS programs & company server)
• Must be able to work well with other departments and how to prioritize job duties
• HS Diploma or GED is mandatory
• Strong work ethic and integrity is a MUST, as well as ability to practice discretion when having access to or handling confidential information.

• Basic agility duties
• Must be able to pass - Visual examination - Near vision acuity & color contrast
• Mechanical aptitude
• Self-motivate
• Must be willing to learn the following:
• NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) disciplines in MPI, LPI & UT w/credentials as Level II REQUIRED (Including Hardness, Magnetic Particle & Ultra-Sonic)
• Credentials at a minimum shall meet latest, NAS 410 and SNT-TC-1A qualifications.
