Job summary

ARMADA INC. is seeking a Level II NDT Inspector (Ultrasonic) to perform, evaluate, and document VT/PT/MT/UT inspections on shipboard structures and piping systems.

You will calibrate and operate NDT equipment, maintain tooling, and ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance. The role requires Level II certification in all methods, OSHA 10 (or willing to obtain), and the ability to work at shipyards and customer facilities.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
• Level II NDT certification in VT/PT/MT/UT required or equivalent.
• ASNT Level II or equivalent desirable.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred (employer may provide).

Responsibilities

• Perform NDT inspections using VT, PT, MT and UT methods.
• Calibrate and operate NDT equipment for accuracy.
• Maintain and troubleshoot inspection equipment as needed.
• Conduct quality control checks on materials and components.
• Verify compliance with industry standards and specs.
• Analyze and interpret inspection data for defects or discontinuities.
• Record and maintain detailed inspection documentation.
• Ensure documentation meets regulatory and internal standards.
• Adhere to safety protocols during inspections.
• Collaborate with project team to plan and execute inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Lead NDT Inspector.

• Proficiency in operating and calibrating NDT equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to produce clear and concise inspection reports.
• In-depth knowledge of safety protocols in NDT inspections.

Education And Experience

• Highschool Diploma or equivalent
• Level II NDT certification in all methods (VT, PT, MT and UT)
• Additional certifications such as ASNT Level II or equivalent are highly desirable.
• OSHA 10 (Company may provide)

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Regularly exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50+ pounds (50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly)
• Lifting includes from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, waist to overhead
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Some travel required

• VT, PT, MT and UT inspection equipment
• Calibrated measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Industrial fall protection systems as required (company will provide training)
