Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in OCTG NDT or Quality roles preferred.
  • Familiarity with calculations such as Snell’s law and electromagnetism formulas.
  • NDT Level 1 or 2 certifications in UT, EMI, and MPI preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections using Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, and Electromagnetic methods.
  • Verify equipment calibration and inspection compliance.
  • Conduct changeovers and standardization for different pipe dimensions.
  • Identify and remove defects using manual tools.
  • Complete visual inspections of pipe surfaces.
  • Report deviations and provide feedback on defects.
  • Execute 5S/Lean practices.

Job description

At Vallourec, we are seeking individuals whose passion and dedication match the strength and resilience of the steel we produce. As an NDT Inspector, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our seamless steel tubes through advanced non‑destructive testing methods.

Day‑to‑Day Impact

You’ll contribute to our Quality Assurance and NDT Operations by:

  • Performing inspections using Ultrasonic (UT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Electromagnetic (EMI) methods.
  • Verifying equipment calibration and inspection criteria compliance.
  • Conducting changeovers and standardization of automated equipment for different pipe dimensions.
  • Identifying and removing defects using manual grinding tools.
  • Completing visual inspections of internal and external pipe surfaces.
  • Reporting deviations and providing feedback on recurring defects.
  • Executing 5S/Lean practices and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Preferred: 1+ year experience in OCTG NDT or Quality roles.
  • Familiarity with calculations (Snell’s law, electromagnetism formulas).
  • NDT Level 1 or 2 certifications in UT, EMI, and MPI (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and adaptability.
