Job summary
SMS group is seeking a detail-oriented NDT Inspector to review supplier NDT and quality documentation for compliance with codes, standards, project specs, and client requirements. The role emphasizes traceability and technical compliance, with support for welding inspection as needed.
You will verify NDT personnel qualifications, review VT/PT/MT/UT/RT results, and ensure complete, auditable records. Travel for supplier and site inspections will be required.
Qualifications
- Experience reviewing supplier quality records and weld documentation.
- Experience in NDT inspection and QA/QC documentation.
- Knowledge of VT, PT, MT, UT, RT methods and codes.
- Understanding of ITPs, welding docs, and NCRs.
Responsibilities
- Verify NDT personnel qualifications meet project/code requirements.
- Review NDT exams and reports for VT, PT, MT, UT, RT.
- Review MDRs, inspection dossiers, certificates for completeness and traceability.
- Verify material and weld traceability with NDT reports.
- Review supplier documentation against ITPs, drawings and specs.
- Identify missing or non-compliant documentation and issue comments.
- Track review status, punch-lists, and close-out activities.
- Support welding inspection activities including V&I, weld IDs, WPS/PQRs.
