Job description

Mistras Group is seeking NDT assistant technicians local to Lima and/or Toledo, Ohio. Relocation is not available.

The Assistant Technician will support Level II NDE Technicians with designated NDT activities while gaining experience and knowledge.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Assist technicians with setup and teardown of equipment
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance, calibrations, and upkeep of equipment and facilities
  • Assist with documentation and reporting of services
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • For Assistant Radiographer or Radiographer Trainee roles, responsibilities include:
    • Operate radiographic equipment only under supervision
    • Maintain surveillance and control of radiographic equipment during use
    • Secure equipment from unauthorized removal
    • Prevent unauthorized personnel from entering restricted areas during use
    • Notify safety personnel in case of incidents
    • Be capable of NRC certification as trustworthy and reliable
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform various tasks and respond to short notice work, including travel
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to read technical documents and specifications
  • Follow precise instructions and procedures
  • Adaptability to changing schedules
Essential Physical Functions:
  • Work outdoors in plant/refinery environments
  • Operate in noisy environments with machinery
  • Wear safety equipment as required
  • Work at multiple sites daily and tolerate climate changes
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 55 pounds
