Job summary

MISTRAS is seeking an Assistant Technician to support Level II NDE Technicians with designated nondestructive testing (NDT) method activities while gaining practical experience and knowledge. The position involves assisting with equipment setup and teardown, maintenance, calibration, documentation, and other operational activities in Colorado.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and coworkers.
• Ability to follow precise directions and procedures.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and work assignments.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks.
• Ability to read technical documents and engineering specifications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with the setup and teardown of NDT equipment.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibrations, and general upkeep of equipment and facilities.
• Assist with proper documentation and preparation of reports for services provided.
• Learn and follow company policies and procedures.
• For Assistant Radiographer or Radiographer Trainee duties: operate radiographic equipment only under the direct visual supervision of a radiographer or radiographic instructor.
• Maintain constant surveillance and immediate control of industrial radiographic equipment while it is in use.
• Secure industrial radiographic equipment from unauthorized removal when it is not under constant surveillance and immediate control.
• Prevent unauthorized personnel from entering restricted area boundaries while industrial radiographic equipment is in use.
• Notify appropriate safety management personnel of incidents and provide assistance as needed.
• Maintain the ability to meet NRC criteria for certification as trustworthy and reliable.
• Maintain and follow safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
