Job summary

USA Rare Earth seeks a Magnetics Engineer to support the development, optimization, and industrialization of high‑performance NdFeB magnet systems. The role focuses on magnetic design, performance optimization, and manufacturing scale‑up.

The ideal candidate has deep magnetics theory knowledge, hands‑on experimental skills, and experience in sintering and heat treatment. Collaboration with R&D, Quality, and Production is essential.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD with strong magnetics focus and materials knowledge.
  • Experience in permanent magnet development or related research.
  • Hands-on sintering and heat treatment exposure.
  • Ability to analyze microstructure and magnetic performance.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and implementation of heavy-rare-earth minimization approaches.
  • Assist lab-to-scale magnet development and manufacturing scale-up.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing on process-property relations.
  • Mentor technicians and contribute to IP documentation.
