Job summary

USA Rare Earth is seeking a Magnetics Engineer to support development, optimization, and industrialization of high-performance NdFeB magnet systems. The role emphasizes magnetics theory, material research, and process development for scale-up.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in magnetics, sintering and heat treatment, data analysis, and collaboration across R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to advance a robust, US-based magnetics program.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field with magnetics focus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and optimization of high-performance NdFeB magnets.
  • Assist scale-up from lab to full-scale production and manufacturing support.
  • Evaluate alloy chemistry, microstructure, and phase behavior to improve magnetic performance.
  • Mentor and train technicians in magnetics, fundamentals, and best practices.
  • Represent USA Rare Earth at trade shows, conferences, or publications.
