Job summary

CB&I is seeking an NDE Technician to inspect in-process and finished steel storage components, working under the Weld Supervisor, Quality Manager, or Superintendent. The role focuses on identifying defects and ensuring safety through non-destructive testing methods across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities include performing tests, interpreting results, and maintaining NDT equipment while mentoring apprentices.

Qualifications

• Typically 2+ years of relevant experience.
• ASNT certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate directions from supervisors clearly.
• Familiarity with technical drawings and analysis tools.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform NDT inspections on in-process and final steel tank components.
• Identify corrosion resistance, strength, and thermal effects.
• Detect surface defects and hidden flaws using appropriate methods.
• Interpret test results and determine causes of structural issues.
• Maintain, calibrate, and repair NDT equipment as needed.
• Assist and mentor apprentice personnel on the job.
