Job summary

A leading company in metal fabrication is seeking NDE Level II Technicians for 1st and 2nd shift openings in Cleveland, OH. This role requires qualifications in quality weld inspections and previous ASNT-TC-1A certification. Technicians will utilize specialized equipment and methods to ensure that materials meet industry standards while generating detailed reports of their findings. Strong candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and experience with various inspection techniques.

Qualifications

  • Previous ASNT-TC-1A certification required.
  • Experience in inspection of metal fabrications, pressure vessels or piping preferred.
  • Current AWS CWI certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

Minutemen Direct has a 1st and 2nd shift direct hire opening for NDE Level II Technicians for a metal fabricating company in Cleveland, OH. Previous ASNT-TC-1A certification including classroom training and OJT.Pay is $30-$40 starting depending on how many certifications.You will be responsible for quality weld inspections using various methods in accordance with industry standards and specific requirements. Experience in the inspection of metal fabrications, pressure vessels, piping, tanks, or gas systems, and current AWS CWI is a plus.

1st shift hours are Monday-Thursday 5:00AM-3:30pm

2nd shift hours are Monday-Thursday 3:30PM-2:00AM

Inspect materials and components:

NDE technicians use specialized equipment and techniques to examine the condition of materials, structures, and components without causing damage.

Identify defects:

They look for flaws, cracks, corrosion, and other imperfections that could compromise the integrity or safety of a product or structure.

Interpret test results:

NDE technicians analyze the results of their inspections and determine if the materials or components meet the required standards.

Generate reports:

They document their findings and provide reports to engineers, managers, and other stakeholders.

Common NDE/NDT methods:

  • Visual Inspection:Using the naked eye or optical aids to identify surface defects.
  • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT):Using a dye to reveal surface cracks and other flaws.
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT):Examining ferromagnetic materials for surface and near-surface flaws.
  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT):Using sound waves to detect flaws and measure material thickness.
