Job description

We have a need for a skilled Combustion Turbine (CT) NDE Technician. Our field NDE technician travels and provides nondestructive inspection services at power plant sites across the Americas including the United States, Canada, Central and South America.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Support the inspection of combustion turbines, steam turbines and generators as well as balance of plant equipment such as heat exchangers and piping at our customers’ power plant.
  • Utilize your experience with borescopes and/or other remote visual inspection (RVI) tools.
  • Travel (up to 70% annually for this position) to Combustion Turbine and Steam Turbine sites and perform field NDE Inspections per Siemens requirements.
  • Support outage field inspection activities through the application of inspection systems and procedures.
  • Be Siemens eyes and ears for engineering inspections and repairs.
  • Assist in the development of NDE applications for use in the field.
  • Stay current with technology & certifications - investigate new NDE technologies.
  • Be the liaison with Siemens and Customer teams during outages.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have experience with RVI tools and concepts.
  • Candidates can live ANYWHERE USA but must live within a 1 hour drive of a major airport.
  • Minimum of 5 years of NDE related work experience.
  • Full ASNT NDT Level II Certifications in UT, ET, MT, VT & PT.
  • Demonstrated formal NDE classroom training in UT, ET, MT, VT & PT disciplines, meeting the requirements of ASNT Document ASNT-SNT-TC-1A.
  • Knowledge related to the inspection of turbine/generator components.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be proficient in Adobe Acrobat Standard as well.

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills will be essential to function in this role successfully. Must be self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups. You’ll need to be flexible to adjust to changing demands while staying on task. Demonstrated ability to work within teams, discuss ideas, make recommendations and help to reach team consensus to move forward.
