Qualifications

Job description

We are currently hiring a NDE Level III (QDA) Technician for the Westinghouse Outage & Maintenance Services team. This individual will represent Westinghouse as a technical expert for Steam Generator and other tubing Eddy Current examinations/inspections (including BOP heat exchangers). You will interface directly with customer's technical experts on NDE related issues and concerns, conduct non-destructive examinations according to written procedures, and interpret the results of the examinations in accordance with applicable standards and specifications.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Investigate and interpret different industry standards, codes, and procedures to support customer and regulatory requirements throughout the nuclear and non-nuclear sectors.
  2. Develop new techniques and inspection procedures, review existing techniques to refine processes supporting the nuclear and non-nuclear industries.
  3. Lead inspection teams and mentor lower-level inspectors to strengthen NDE personnel capabilities.
  4. Support and prepare procedures and examination plans for the NDE scope.
  5. Participate in performance-based training to acquire and maintain certifications and stay current with technology.
  6. Participate in safety training to perform work safely in hazardous environments and operate safety equipment and systems.
  7. Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot plant equipment, including NDE technology, automated systems, and computer networks.
  8. Perform all tasks with high quality, within qualified procedures, maintaining attention to detail and documenting quality issues.
  9. Develop and exercise team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers, and other departments. Demonstrate good customer sensitivity and problem-solving skills.
Who You Are:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline preferred.
  • Significant experience hours performing NDE of nuclear and/or non-nuclear products to satisfy industry-recognized requirements for NDE Level III certification.
  • Professional Certifications: Nondestructive Level III capability to certify per WEC written practice satisfying ASNT CP-189, ASME Section XI.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Working knowledge of NDE industry standards and codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
