Job summary

Xcel NDT is seeking a skilled NDT Technician in Columbia, SC to perform nondestructive testing per RT, MT, PT and UTT methods. Responsibilities include setting up equipment, interpreting results, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires NDT Level II RT with OJT and state card, Level II MT/PT/UTT, and strong knowledge of NDT equipment. A high school diploma and background checks are required; candidates must be able to work in physically demanding environments.

Qualifications

• NDT Level II RT with OJT and state card
• NDT Level II MT, PT, UTT required
• Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to perform NDT tasks and interpret results
• Knowledge of NDT equipment
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Complete and pass a DISA Background check
• Complete and pass all required Drug Screens
• Complete and pass site specific safety council
• MUST TEST OUT IN ALL REQUIRED METHODS WITH XCEL

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
• Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection.
• Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
• Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
• Interpret radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators.
• Organize and report test results.
• Perform specialized inspections.
• May instruct and supervise others.
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
