Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated NDA Technologist to join our NDA and Vault Operations group in Los Alamos, NM. The successful candidate will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot NDA equipment used for measuring special nuclear materials and support field measurements for Production and D&D projects.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree with 2 years related experience, knowledge of NDA methods, strong teamwork, and the ability to obtain Q clearance and HRP

Qualifications

• NDA methods knowledge through experience, certification, or education.
• Strong organization, planning, teamwork, customer interactions, and interpersonal communications.
• Ability to work productively on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Compliance with ES&H requirements and using appropriate administrative and engineering controls.
• Q-clearance and HRP eligibility; FMH certification and related qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist other technologists, engineers, scientists and technicians to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot NDA equipment used for measuring SNM.
• Perform in-field measurements alongside Technicians and the FETS team, supporting Production and D&D projects.
• May act as a lead on specific tasks within a larger project.
• Keep current on the status of the NDA processes and technologies.
• Assist with NDA equipment repair and maintenance at the LANL Plutonium Facility.
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and completion of projects.
