Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking an NDA Technologist to join the NDA and Vault Operations group in Los Alamos, NM. The role supports NDA measurements of SNM, works with engineers and scientists, and contributes to project execution within the Plutonium Facility.

The successful candidate will operate NDA equipment, assist with field measurements, and help maintain and repair NDA systems, while complying with ES&H requirements and maintaining necessary qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong organization, planning, teamwork, customer interactions, and interpersonal communications.
• Ability to work productively on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Experience in conducting scientific/engineering work while complying with ES&H requirements and protective controls.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Q-clearance and HRP certification; FMH certification; and job-specific qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist technologists, engineers, scientists and technicians to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot NDA equipment for measuring SNM.
• Perform in-field measurements alongside the FETS team, supporting Production and D&D projects.
• May act as a lead or contribute to specific tasks within a larger project.
• Keep current on the status of NDA processes and technologies.
• Assist with NDA equipment repair and maintenance at the LANL Plutonium Facility.
• Contribute to development, implementation, and completion of projects.
