Job summary

RSI in Oak Ridge, TN, seeks a technician to perform nondestructive assay measurements and data reduction under supervision. You will document results, set up and calibrate NDA instrumentation, and assist with radiological characterization planning to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 40-hour HAZWOPER training, teamwork, effective communication, and knowledge of NDA analyses and hardware. DOE Q clearance may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent technical training, or two years experience in nuclear facility field.
  • Able to complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
  • Proven ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with standard Microsoft software.
  • Knowledge of NDA data analysis algorithms and their limitations.
  • Knowledge of NDA hardware, method selection, and limitations.
  • Self-motivated, requires limited direction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist management in completing nondestructive assay measurements and document results.
  • Set up, operate and calibrate NDA instrumentation per procedures.
  • Communicate results and identify data anomalies to ensure quality data.
  • Support radiological characterization planning and related duties as assigned.
