Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering in Idaho Falls, ID, seeks a Waste Management Non-Destructive Assay Engineer (RFP-52018) to provide expert review and oversight of NDA activities supporting TRU and LLW disposal. The role validates NDA measurements, reviews procedures, supports instrument performance, and ensures compliance with DOE, EPA, WIPP, and site requirements.

This is a full-time, on-site position with a four 10-hour day workweek (Mon-Thu) and no telework.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in physical science or engineering.
• Five years of NDA experience and two years of nuclear experience.
• Demonstrated NDA measurement validation and data review.
• Experience with DOE/EPA/WIPP regulatory requirements.
• On-site work schedule with four 10-hour days; telework not available.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent technical NDA reviews to verify compliance.
• Validate NDA measurements and batch data reports for accuracy.
• Review procedures for calibration, validation, and QA compliance.
• Oversee NDA instruments like ISOCS, SWEPP, and drum assay systems.
• Support audits, software validation, and data surveillance.
