Job summary

The Dallas Police Department is seeking an NCIC Specialist I to maintain the NCIC database, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with NCIC standards.

Under supervision, you will enter and verify records, coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies via NLETS, and generate reports. A High School Diploma, two years of data entry experience, and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years general office administration or data entry experience.
• NCIC/TCIC/CJIS full access certification during probation.
• Basic Telecommunicator License from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) within one year.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Clear background check and drug test.
• No felonies or Class A misdemeanors in the last 10 years.
• No family violence convictions.

Responsibilities

• Enter, modify, cancel, and validate confidential data.
• Coordinate information with internal/external law enforcement agencies.
• Notify agencies via NLETS for time-sensitive information.
• Verify criminal histories, warrants, stolen property, missing persons data.
• Adhere to NCIC policies, state and federal regulations and security procedures.
• Generate and distribute reports as required by law enforcement.
• Process hit confirmations for hot files within NCIC/state policies.
• Enter county warrants and protective orders for dissemination.
• Prepare and maintain various logs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
