Job summary

Louisiana Delta Community College is seeking a Workforce Development Instructor in Monroe, LA to develop and deliver construction training aligned with NCCER standards. The role combines classroom teaching with hands-on lab instruction and close collaboration with industry partners.

You will supervise safety, assess student performance, and prepare learners for industry certifications while maintaining records and supporting program growth and improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of verifiable construction or related skilled trade experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• NCCER Certified Craft Instructor (CCI) credentials.
• OSHA 510/500 Outreach Trainer certification.
• NSC Lift Truck Instructor certification.
• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) Instructor certification.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety, materials handling, site practices.
• Ability to deliver engaging instruction to diverse learners.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach construction courses per NCCER standards.
• Facilitate classroom and hands-on labs with OSHA compliance.
• Evaluate student performance via written and performance-based assessments.
• Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications.
• Collaborate with employers for internships, apprenticeships, and placements.
• Keep course content updated with industry advances.
• Maintain accurate student records and report outcomes.
• Support program development and continuous improvement.
• Perform administrative or mentorship duties as needed.
