Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of verifiable construction experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain NCCER CCI credentials.
  • OSHA 510/500 Outreach Trainer certification.
  • NSC Lift Truck Instructor certification.
  • AHA BLS Instructor certification.
  • Strong knowledge of construction site safety, materials handling, concrete placement, trenching, demolition, and other laborer skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging instruction to diverse learners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach courses in construction related programs (NCCER Construction Craft Laborer, Construction Site Safety, Core, etc).
  • Facilitate both classroom-based learning and hands-on lab instruction with safety compliance.
  • Evaluate student performance via written and performance-based assessments.
  • Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications.
  • Collaborate with employers to facilitate internships, apprenticeships, and job placements.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and integrate them into course content.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal workforce training standards.
  • Maintain accurate student records and report outcomes to funding agencies.
  • Foster a positive, engaging learning environment and collaborate with program staff.
  • Perform administrative, mentorship, or support duties to ensure program success.

Duty and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and teach courses in construction related programs, such as NCCER Construction Craft Laborer, Construction Site Safety, Core, etc.
  • Facilitate both classroom-based learning and hands-on lab instruction, ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Evaluate student performance through written and performance-based assessments in accordance with NCCER standards and other accrediting agencies.
  • Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications
  • Collaborate with employers to facilitate internships, apprenticeships, and job placements.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and integrate them into course content while utilizing instructional best practices
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal workforce training standards.
  • Maintain accurate student records (attendance, grades, and certifications) and report outcomes to funding agencies and workforce partners.
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and respectful learning environment.
  • Collaborate with program staff to support student success, program development, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform administrative, mentorship, or support duties among other roles as needed to ensure the success of the training program and organization.
Required Education:
  • Minimum 8 years of verifiable experience in construction or a related skilled trade.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain the following credentials
    • NCCER Certified Craft Instructor (CCI) credentials
    • OSHA 510/500 Outreach Trainer certification.
    • NSC Lift Truck Instructor certification.
    • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) Instructor certification.
  • Strong knowledge of construction site safety, materials handling, concrete placement, trenching, demolition, and other laborer skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging instruction to diverse learners.
  • Strong communication, organizational, computer, and classroom management skills.
  • Strong hands-on technical skills and ability to train students in real-world applications.
  • Ability to work with diverse learners, including adult education and workforce development students.
