Qualifications

  • Level I - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering degree or related fields.
  • Level II - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering degree or related fields and 2 years of experience in engineering and research practices and principles.
  • Level III - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering degree or related fields and 4 years of experience in engineering and research practices and principles.
  • Level IV - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering degree or related fields and 6 years of experience in engineering and research practices and principles.
  • Substitutions allowed for experience: education may count toward experience at 1 year per year of education.

Overview

The Training Engineer supports the development and delivery ofasphalt pavement training programs, technology transfer activities,and research implementation efforts. SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED FOR EXPERIENCE: Yes, When a candidate has therequired education, but lacks the required experience, they maynormally apply additional appropriate education toward theexperience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevanteducation per year of required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience with asphalt materials, pavement design,construction, or quality assurance.
  • Experience developing presentations or technical trainingmaterials.
  • Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer licensure.
