Job summary

MAX AEROSTRUCTURES LLC in Wichita, KS seeks an experienced CNC Programmer to write and optimize programs for five-axis aerospace parts. You will coordinate start-ups, troubleshoot, and ensure accurate tool selection and process efficiency.

The role requires CATIA V5 expertise, reading complex blueprints, and strong mathematical skills to improve throughput and reduce costs. On-site employment with full benefits offered.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Writes and/or modifies CNC programs and instruction sheets for multi-axis machined parts
• Coordinates program start-ups in manufacturing, assists in troubleshooting and provides recommendations for the selection of cutting tools
• Monitors performance of program after implementation, makes adjustments as needed
• Evaluates requests for new or modified programs to determine feasibility, cost, and time estimates.
• Maintains program files
• Analyzes, reviews, and recommends modifications to existing programs to increase operating efficiency, reduce costs, improve processes, and/or adapt to new or changing requirements

QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:

• 3 years hands-on experience using CATIA v. 5 in programming machining equipment in the manufacture of precision machined parts for the aerospace industry
• More than 3 years previous experience programming five-axis CNC machines required plus 2 years machining experience preferred
• CATIA v 5 experience required
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer blueprints/specifications, purchase orders, tooling concepts, manufacturing processes, technical procedures, operating instructions, etc. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Extensive experience with computer modeling software
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED, college degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years' previous work experience as a CNC Programmer is required
• CATIA v 5 experience required
