Job summary

LIFESPAN is hiring Teacher Assistants to support children with developmental delays and typically developing peers in a blended, inclusive early learning center in Statesville, NC.

You will assist the teacher with planned activities, promote social-emotional learning, ensure a safe and stimulating environment, and help document progress and milestones. Training and benefits accompany a full-time role.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or High School Diploma (GED) and working toward an Associate degree.
• One-year experience in a child care setting or working with special education students preferred.
• North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials required.
• First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain through training.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with implementing activities to reach individual goals.
• Develop relationships in the classroom promoting social emotional learning.
• Support inclusion and integration in a safe, positive learning environment.
• Mentor children to build social skills and relationships.
• Document activities and significant events in the electronic health record.
• Submit documentation and payroll data on schedule; participate in staff development.
