Job summary

Multiquip in Boise, Idaho is seeking an NC Machinist who can set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and NC machines to fabricate precision components. The role emphasizes hands-on machining, problem-solving, and collaboration with engineering and production teams in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have an A.A. degree or machinist certificate (or 6 months to 1 year of related experience) and basic CNC programming skills for mills and lathes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret prints, sketches, drawings, manuals and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Measure, mark and scribe reference points on materials for machining.
• Set up and secure fixtures, cutting tools and materials for mills, lathes, grinders and shapers.
• Input/modify CNC programs as needed and adjust machine controls.
• Operate machines and monitor performance, resolving malfunctions or out-of-tolerance issues.
• Verify finished parts against specifications using measuring tools.

Position Title: NC Machinist

FullTime Hourly OnSite Day Shift (5:00am3:30pm Monday to Thursday, Overtime on Friday as needed)

Join our team and help shape highquality structural metal products used in machinery and concrete construction equipment.

General Summary: We are looking for a skilled Machinist to set up and operate conventional, specialpurpose, and NC machines to fabricate precision metallic components. This role involves handson machining, problemsolving, and working closely with engineering and production teams in a fastpaced environment.

What Youll Do

Machining & Fabrication

• Interpret prints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining steps.
• Measure, mark, and scribe reference points on materials as guides for machining processes.
• Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials for machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, jig borers, and shapers.
• Set and adjust machine controlsspeed, feed, coolant flow, depth/angle of cut, etc.or input/modify CNC programs as needed.
• Operate machines and monitor performance, resolving malfunctions or outoftolerance issues.
• Verify accuracy of finished parts to specifications using appropriate measuring tools.
• Perform trial runs to validate setups or programmed data.
• Develop part specifications and create sketches from general descriptions when required.
• Partner with engineers, production staff, and programmers to troubleshoot machining or assembly issues.
• Maintain clear communication to ensure highquality output and efficient workflow.
• Safely operate hoists and materialhandling equipment.
• Follow all safety guidelines when handling tools, machinery, and chemicals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform basic programming for mills and lathes.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

• A.A. Degree, Machinist Certificate, or Machinist Associate Degree from a technical college/trade school; OR
• 6 months1 year of related experience/training; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technical Skills

• Ability to read/interpret drawings, instructions, and technical documents.
• Basic CNC programming skills (mills and lathes).
• Ability to operate:
  • CNC lathes & mills
  • Manual mills & lathes
  • Drill press
  • Hand and airpowered tools
  • Hoists and materialhandling equipment
• Computer literacy with the ability to use various software programs and make modifications when required.

Math & ProblemSolving

• Strong understanding of plane/solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply fractions, ratios, percentages, and practical math.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues using written, verbal, or diagram form instructions.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, reach, handle, and feel materials and tools.
• Frequently walk, talk, and hear; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 10 hours in a fastpaced environment.
• Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Exposure to chemicals such as metalworking fluids, cleaners, brake fluid, etc.
• Loud environmenthearing protection required.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay: $23.00 / hour + DOE
• 9 or 11 paid Holidays (depending on schedule)
