Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is recruiting for a hospital-based general surgery locum tenens assignment in Wilson, North Carolina. The provider will cover weekend calls (Fri 7am–Mon 7am) and perform laparoscopic appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, with GI endoscopy preferred. Skills in vascular, breast, and hand surgery are valued.

Qualifications

• Board certified candidates only.
• Weekend call coverage required (Fri 7am–Mon 7am).
• Must perform laparoscopic appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty.
• GI endoscopy highly preferred (upper, lower, colonoscopy).
• Skills in vascular, breast, and hand surgery.
• Assignment details entered in online portal.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospital-based general surgery call coverage.
• Respond to beeper calls within 45 minutes in person.
• Manage weekend coverage duties per schedule.
• Document and log assignments via online portal.

• Avg 4 patients seen, 4 admissions, and 4 phone consults per 24 hrs
• Hospital-based general surgery call coverage
• Beeper call -- in person response within 45 minutes required
• Laparoscopic appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty required
• GI endoscopy highly preferred -- upper, lower, colonoscopy
• Vascular surgery, breast surgery, and hand surgery skills needed
• Board certified candidates only
