Job summary

Common Cause is seeking a Development Associate in North Carolina to support fundraising strategies and donor engagement. The role reports to the Development Director, NC, and requires travel around the state. Start date targeted for October.

Responsibilities include donor research, stewardship, event planning, and coordinating with program and leadership teams. You will thrive with a strong commitment to our nonpartisan mission, collaboration, and excellent written/oral communication.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in fundraising.
• Demonstrated interest in NC political dynamics and democracy issues.
• Ability to travel 1-2 times per year for team retreats and 4 days per month within NC.
• Willing to have a social media presence on behalf of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Support the Development Director in executing fundraising strategy and donor engagement plans.
• Assist with donor prospect research to identify and evaluate donors’ giving capacity.
• Draft donor research briefs and portfolios for meetings and cultivation.
• Assist with donor stewardship and engagement.
• Plan and execute NC-based fundraising events and related logistics.
• Draft fundraising communications and support Planned Giving activity.
• Maintain donor records and CRM data (ROI) with accuracy.
