Job summary

Choice Translating and TravelingBrand are seeking a freelance Amharic interpreter based in Charlotte, NC for on-site interpreting opportunities. Interpreters must be fully bilingual (Amharic/English) and comfortable using Google Meet or Microsoft Teams to support VRI/OPI assignments.

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma, with a college degree preferred, and be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Fully bilingual, fluent in Amharic and English
• Eligible to work in the U.S. (Green Card or higher)

Responsibilities

• Interpret spoken communication in real-time
• Communicate clearly and professionally in both languages
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and interpreter Code of Ethics
• Manage your own flexible schedule and accept appointments as needed
• Provide services on-site, via video (VRI), or by phone (OPI)
• Be punctual, professional, and committed to high-quality work

• Open to interpreters in North Carolina or other states for VRI/OPI opportunities

Qualifications

• Fully bilingual, fluent in Amharic and English
• Technologically proficient (familiar with Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred
• Eligible to work in the U.S. (Green Card or higher)
• Clean driving record, valid driver’s insurance, and reliable transportation
