Valley Children's Healthcare in California seeks a dedicated professional to coordinate newborn screening follow-up and ensure accurate interpretation of state regulations. You will manage confirmed positive cases, ensuring access to specialty care and thorough documentation in the Screening Information System, aligning with the program's scope of work.
Under the direction of the Newborn Screening (NBS) ASC Director, provides follow up and coordinates care for both positive and non-positive Newborn Screening cases. Provides consultation/technical assistance to hospital NBS providers and birth attendants to ensure program compliance through appropriate NBS policies/procedures and interpretation/implementation of state regulations. Provides NBS educational programs for hospitals, birth attendants, health care professionals, community agencies and parent groups. Manages NBS confirmed positive cases to ensure that affected babies receive required specialty care. Documents case follow up and resolves cases appropriately in the Screening Information System (SIS). Job incumbents may be asked to perform other NBS duties consistent with the Newborn Screening Program Scope of Work (SOW), as permitted within their professional scope of practice.
