Job summary

Department of the Navy offers a welding position across major naval shipyards including Portsmouth, Puget Sound, Norfolk, Bangor and Pearl Harbor. You will perform welding to exacting standards, identify metals, and inspect completed work while following DoD procedures and safety rules.

Applicants must meet federal requirements, pass E-Verify, undergo pre-employment drug testing, and be able to travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations; security clearance is required and PPE is mandatory during shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in welding with emphasis on quality and safety standards.
• Ability to identify metals, alloys and filler metals by code and markings.
• Applicants must meet federal employment requirements and pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Identify metals, alloys and filler metal by code and standard markings.
• Produce welds to acceptance standards of NDT, strength, tightness or pressure tests.
• Use test methods for determining metals or alloys.
• Inspect completed welding projects.
• Use various welding machines and welding processes to weld piping parts or structures.
