Job summary

Continental Tide Defense Systems, Inc. in Norfolk, VA seeks a Welder III to perform complex welding tasks for ship repair and maritime fabrication projects. The role requires experience in structural and pipe welding, with work across shop and shipboard environments.

Ideal candidates have NAVSEA/ABS/AWS knowledge, the ability to read drawings, and a SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one. Strong safety and quality workmanship are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade/vocational degree.
• 10+ years direct ship repair experience. HM&E installations.
• Ability to read ship installation drawings and NAVSEA specs.
• SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Welding certifications or ability to obtain qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Join, fabricate, and repair metal using approved welding techniques.
• Repair/modify/install pipes, structures, fittings for shipboard systems.
• Interpret blueprints, specs, diagrams to select weld process.
• Inspect welds for structural soundness per NAVSEA/ABS/AWS.
• Lead technical project teams and brief customers/senior leadership.
