Position Overview
Invictus Associates, LLC is seeking an experienced Navy Surface Ship Maintenance Analyst to support the Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Center (CNRMC) in Norfolk, Virginia.
This position directly supports the planning, monitoring, and execution of Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) surface ship maintenance availabilities and related fleet maintenance initiatives. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience in Navy surface ship maintenance, modernization, and availability planning and execution, with the ability to analyze complex maintenance information and translate it into actionable information for senior Navy leadership.

About the Mission
CNRMC provides enterprise-level leadership and coordination for the Navy's Regional Maintenance Centers and supports the delivery of safe, timely, cost-effective maintenance and modernization of the Navy's surface fleet.
The Surface Ship Maintenance Analyst will work with government and contractor personnel across CNRMC, Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs), Type Commanders, shipyards, program offices, and other Navy stakeholders to improve the planning and execution of surface ship maintenance availabilities.
Key Responsibilities
The Navy Surface Ship Maintenance Analyst will:
- Support the planning, monitoring, and execution of CNO surface ship maintenance availabilities.
- Track and analyze surface ship maintenance requirements, schedules, milestones, and execution data.
- Review and analyze Current Ship's Maintenance Project (CSMP) information and other maintenance planning and execution data.
- Analyze maintenance information from Navy databases and systems, including NMD and SMDII, to identify trends, risks, and areas requiring leadership attention.
- Develop reports, metrics, dashboards, presentations, and executive-level briefings for senior Navy military and civilian leadership.
- Prepare materials for maintenance planning meetings, availability reviews, working groups, and other senior-level forums.
- Track availability milestones, action items, schedules, risks, and emerging maintenance execution issues.
- Identify potential schedule, resource, technical, or execution risks and assist in developing recommendations and courses of action.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across CNRMC, RMCs, Type Commanders, NAVSEA organizations, shipyards, and program offices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to surface ship maintenance planning and execution.
- Organize, analyze, and present complex maintenance information using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and other Navy or DoD information systems.
- Develop concise, decision-quality products suitable for presentation to Flag Officers, Senior Executive Service (SES) personnel, and other senior Navy leaders.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess one of the following combinations of education and relevant professional experience:
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate's degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience; OR
- High school diploma and at least 11 years of relevant experience.

Additionally, candidates must have:
- Demonstrated experience with CNO availability planning and execution and Navy surface ship maintenance and/or modernization.
- Working knowledge of surface ship maintenance availability processes, milestones, and execution requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex maintenance and schedule information.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and action items.
- Ability to communicate effectively with military, government civilian, and contractor personnel.
- Ability to develop professional reports, briefings, and other executive-level products.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work on-site at Naval Station Norfolk.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
Desired Qualifications
Highly competitive candidates will possess prior U.S. Navy Active Duty or Reserve experience in areas such as:
- Shipboard maintenance and repair
- Availability planning and execution
- Port Engineer or maintenance management functions
- Shipboard operations
- Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) operations
- Shipyard or waterfront maintenance support
Experience or familiarity with the following is also highly desirable:
