Job summary

Continental Tide Defense Systems, Inc. in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Marine Electrician II to join our Fleet Services team.

The successful candidate will inspect, repair, install, and maintain electrical/electronic systems aboard ships, perform on-site field service for grooms and checkouts, and support modifications and Alteration Installation Team projects. Ideal applicants have 4–5+ years of shipboard HM&E experience, NAVSEA certifications, and the ability to read schematics and blueprints.

Qualifications

• Copper connector certification OR fiber optic experience required.
• 4–5+ years of practical shipboard HM&E experience.
• NAVSEA Cableway and Connectorization certifications desired.
• Ability to read simple schematics and blueprints.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to obtain a SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical/electronic ship systems.
• Perform on-site field service for grooms, checkouts, and minor repairs.
• Read schematics, interpret blueprints, and follow engineering specs.
• Lay out, pull, and splice wires; install lighting and power distribution.
• Instruct and supervise helpers; document issues and propose solutions.
