Job summary

Watershed Security is seeking a Journeyman Information Systems Security Engineer to support NSWC in Philadelphia, PA. The role involves coordinating security changes, ensuring policy compliance, and conducting vulnerability assessments.

You will lead incident-response efforts, provide guidance on security best practices, and perform risk assessments to protect sensitive data. Onsite work is standard with potential remote options; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent technical degree.
• Active certifications: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP.
• Minimum 3 years practical cybersecurity or A&A experience.
• Top Secret clearance; US Citizen.
• Onsite support in Philadelphia; some remote work may be possible.
• Travel may be required; knowledge of Navy RMF and A&A tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to brief senior staff.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the organization to implement required security changes and ensure policy compliance.
• Conduct comprehensive cybersecurity vulnerability and threat assessments to identify risks.
• Lead cyber-incident-response efforts: isolate affected systems, investigate, collect data, and report to leadership.
• Provide guidance on best practices and improvements to security posture.
• Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for sensitive data protection.
• Support continuous monitoring of information systems and deliver status reports on compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging cybersecurity threats and industry best practices.
