Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is a federal government contractor providing solutions in information technology, test and evaluation, program mission support, engineering and analysis, and training.

The Junior Systems Engineer will support NSWCCD in IV&V of Fly-By-Wire Ship Control Systems for US Navy submarines, review specs, witness tests, and audit software units. A Secret clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is necessary for clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or Computer Science.
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one.
• U.S. Citizenship required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.
• Experience working with US Navy submarine.

Responsibilities

• Support NSWCCD in IV&V of Fly-By-Wire Ship Control Systems for U.S. Navy submarines.
• Review engineering specifications, documents, drawings, and plans.
• Review system, software, and hardware test procedures.
• Witness Formal Qualification and System Acceptance Testing at land-based facilities.
• Validate requirements.
• Perform audits of computer software units.
