A leading defense contractor seeks Navy Combat Weapons Systems Technicians for maintenance of shipboard weapons systems at the Surface Combat Systems Center in Wallops Island, VA. BAE Systems is seeking experienced Navy Combat Weapons Systems Technicians with experience in performing comprehensive component and system level maintenance for shipboard Weapons Systems, to join our dynamic team of engineers, technologists, and military veterans. The work is performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, VA. The SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform-specific radars and sensors, supporting functions such as combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing, and participation in at-sea exercises. SCSC offers a high-fidelity representative combat system for every ship in the AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and future plans.
The selected candidate will perform comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance on Navy Combat Weapons Systems including:
Responsibilities include providing system/equipment configuration and operational support for all deployed baseline AEGIS and SSDS variants, scheduling planned maintenance actions using the SKED program per the Navy's Maintenance Material Management (3M) system, and documenting all maintenance activities, including repair part requisitions, via the OMNS-NG program.
This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Minimum requirements include a High School/GED and over three years of demonstrated experience in assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment. PQS 301 qualification is required; if not obtained by the hire date, the candidate must be willing to obtain it within three months.
The successful candidate must be willing and able to work in various 40-hour weekly configurations, including:
Security clearance requirement: Ability to obtain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Full-Time Salary Range: $20,800 - $416,000
Note: Salaries are influenced by market pay structures, candidate qualifications, skills, education, and experience.
