Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) invites qualified students to join its Navy Strategic Systems Programs team as an intern. The 10-week, 40-hour-per-week program begins in May 2027, with potential remote work during the school year at reduced hours.

Housing and transportation are the intern's responsibility. The intern will work under a SPA manager with daily tasks from a government mentor in SSP, focusing on budget, contracting, meetings, documentation, summer project, and leadership

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Active enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or post-graduate program in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Policy, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Must have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate experience.
• Must be able to work on-site full-time, 5 days per week, at a government facility in the Washington Navy Yard and conduct multi-day domestic travel (fully reimbursed).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize tasks, and perform in a fast-paced, mission-focused work environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the budget and contracting section of the missile branch with critical program efforts.
• Fulfill programmatic and administrative tasking set out by a government mentor in support of the assigned branch's business rhythms.
• Organize and attend meetings related to the branch's technical and administrative function.
• Draft, review, and/or edit documentation.
• Complete a "summer project".
• Attend weekly SPA informational roundtables and working lunches with SPA leadership.
