Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) in Warminster, PA, invites Undergraduate and Graduate Student Co-ops to support navigation research and development within the NRDD. You’ll work with a team of scientists and engineers on hardware interfacing, embedded software, firmware, and data analysis for DoD-sponsored projects.

Positions require availability for a six-month term at the Warminster facility.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate and Graduate students studying Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering are preferred.

Responsibilities

• You will support laboratory operations related to development, testing, and evaluation of navigation systems.
• You will work with a cooperative team of scientists and engineers on hardware interfacing, embedded software, and FPGA firmware development.
• Co-ops work on hardware design/interface with state-of-the-art equipment, programming software to interface with this equipment, data logging/processing, and live sensor tests.
• You will learn or strengthen practical skills such as electrical circuit design and troubleshooting, drafting electrical schematics, solid modeling, hardware interfacing, and electrical fabrication.
