Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s Applied Research Laboratory in Warminster, PA invites undergraduate and graduate student co-ops to join the Navigation Research and Development Division to support research, development, and engineering activities in embedded systems and hardware.

The co-op will work on projects designing hardware, interfacing with advanced equipment, and software/firmware development, with opportunities to learn C++/C#/Python/MATLAB, drafting schematics, solid modeling,

Qualifications

Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering students preferred.
Must be available to work on-site at Warminster, PA for six months.
U.S. citizen; able to obtain security clearance.
Pre-employment drug screen required.
Background checks per university policy.

Responsibilities

Support laboratory operations for development, testing, and evaluation of navigation systems.
Collaborate with scientists and engineers on hands-on design, software/firmware development.
Design/build hardware to interface with state-of-the-art equipment; program software for data logging/processing; test fixtures; perform tests and analyze data.
Learn or strengthen skills in C++/C#/Python/MATLAB, drafting schematics, solid modeling, hardware interfacing, and fabrication.
