Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Woodland Hills, CA, seeks a Navigation Systems Engineer to design and implement model-based navigation software. You will join a diverse, collaborative team focused on state-of-the-art navigation and timing technologies for national defense products and capabilities.

The role involves analysis, iterative development, cross-team coordination, and presenting results at conferences.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing Sensor Fusion for Navigation Systems using IMU, GPS, barometers, and other sensors.
• Experience implementing state-estimation algorithms such as Extended Kalman Filtering, Unscented Kalman Filtering, Particle Filtering.
• Experience in position, velocity, and attitude determination.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of navigation performance in lab and flight test scenarios.
• Communication of status, issues, and results with program management and customers.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop advanced navigation and timing technologies.
• Collaborate with a team of navigation and timing experts in a team-based environment.
• Work with leading-edge navigation systems, techniques, algorithms, and software to enhance mission success.
• Present ideas to internal and external groups and represent Northrop Grumman at conferences.
