Job summary

Digital Prospectors is seeking an Engineer with an M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent, for advanced navigation and estimation work.

The role emphasizes inertial sensors, GPS/IMU analysis, and Kalman-filter based estimation. DoD clearance or above is required, with a strong background in covariance and Monte-Carlo techniques. Responsibilities include flight data post processing, inertial error modeling, and system accuracy analyses.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink required.
• Experience with Kalman filtering and estimation.
• Knowledge of inertial sensors and GPS/GNSS analytics.
• Familiarity with covariance and Monte-Carlo simulations.

Job Description:

We are seeking an Engineer with an M.S. or a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, physics, or equivalent. Seeking familiarity with inertial sensors, navigation, estimation, and system accuracy analysis. Candidates that have used methods such as linear covariance analysis and Monte-Carlo simulations are highly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Flight data post processing and analysis (GPS and IMU analysis)
• Inertial instrument error modeling and analysis
• System accuracy analysis including generating error budget sensitivities

Qualifications:

• Navigation system accuracy analysis (via covariance and Monte-Carlo studies)
• C/C++ Programming Experience
• Deep knowledge of MATLAB / Simulink (e.g., Bus objects, S-functions, embedded MATLAB)
• Deep knowledge of estimation, navigation, and Kalman filtering
• Deep knowledge of inertial instrument error modeling and estimation
• Deep knowledge of GN&C algorithm techniques and simulation modeling technique
• Experience with tightly coupled GPS/GNSS filter design
