Job summary

Ultra Maritime in the United States is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers in the design, development, testing, production, and sustainment of advanced maritime defense products.

This role requires strong technical leadership, the ability to balance cost, schedule, and quality, and collaboration across program management, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and systems engineering. Domestic travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 9+ years of engineering experience in a complex environment.
• 3+ years in engineering leadership or supervision.
• Strong mechanical design, analysis, and development experience.
• Proficient with MS Office; able to obtain U.S. government security clearance.
• Familiarity with configuration management and engineering change processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small-to-medium Mechanical Engineering team; assign responsibilities and coordinate daily activities.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship for design, analysis, testing, and production support of mechanical systems.
• Manage projects and work packages through lifecycle: requirements, design, development, testing, production, sustainment.
• Set priorities and allocate resources to meet schedules and customer requirements.
• Monitor performance, workload, and deliverables to ensure commitments are met.
• Drive engineering solutions considering cost, schedule, quality, manufacturability, reliability and performance.
