Job summary

Amentum is seeking a qualified Machinist Mate to provide full-time, onsite support for MARMC in Norfolk, VA. You will perform technical assistance, inspections, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on Code 263 propulsion and auxiliary equipment for a diverse Navy and FMS fleet.

The role requires hands-on experience with turbine machinery, the ability to read schematics and manuals, and strong verbal and written communication for reporting to government SMEs.

Qualifications

• Experience as Navy Gas Turbine Systems Tech Mechanical or equivalent civilian experience.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints and technical manuals.
• Strong written and oral communication for technical reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance, inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive/corrective maintenance on Code 263 equipment.
• Conduct cold/hot checks; document readings and anomalies.
• Oversee shipboard repairs and ensure technical compliance.
• Witness operations and validate performance with ship's force when possible.
• Use test equipment to collect data for evaluation.
