Job summary

Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. (STi) is seeking a Production Training Specialist for the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & IMF Detachment in Guam. You will serve as an advisor and SME on qualification requirements, shaping training programs to support repair, overhaul, and conversion efforts.

You will develop curricula, implement qualification plans, and mentor engineers and wage-grade personnel, ensuring alignment with NAVSEA goals and Guam Detachment objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of Naval Shipyard production work experience on Los Angeles and Virginia class submarines.
  • Experience developing training curricula and delivering instruction to wage grade and military personnel.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate training program effectiveness and improvements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to brief and instruct personnel at all levels.
  • Knowledge of qualification programs, proficiency requirements, and training methods.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and SME on qualification requirements for project teams and recommend practical training solutions.
  • Develop and implement team qualifications, training plans, and competency tracking.
  • Provide trade training for Structural, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Pipefitting, Preservation, and Temporary Services.
  • Prepare on-the-job training guidelines and check‑off sheets for trainee proficiency.
  • Mentor production personnel on technical and leadership competencies.
  • Disseminate lessons learned from other shipyards to Guam Detachment projects.
