Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks an Engineering Technician III for waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization on U.S. Naval ships.

You will install, maintain, and test varied electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment in shipyards and drydocks, often in extreme temperatures, and support engineering teams with troubleshooting and documentation. The role requires an Associate degree and 3+ years of related experience, U.S.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree (A.A. or A.S.).
• 3+ years of related experience in engineering technician work.
• Location: On Customer Site.
• US Citizenship required as per job postings.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, and tests electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment.
• Applies electronics principles to restore equipment to operational condition.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions with diagnostic equipment and corrects issues.
• Modifies circuitry to improve performance and aids in design problem solving.
• Provides operation and maintenance instruction to customers; prepares reports.
• Assists engineering staff in solving equipment design problems; may lead less-experienced technicians.
• Performs quality assurance testing on assemblies and equipment.
