Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Experienced Engineering Technician to join our team supporting U.S. Navy ships in Chesapeake, VA. The role focuses on troubleshooting, electrical work on ships, data recording, and compliance with safety and QA practices.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance, and readiness to travel up to 10% to various work sites. OSHA 10, respirator qualification, and fiber optic or related certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance.
• Ability to access shipyards and pass background/drug screenings.
• OSHA 10 certification, respirator qualification, and PPE usage.
• Experience with electrical work on ships and shipboard environments.
• Minimum 2 years in related electrical and test roles.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
• Test and modify setups; operate standard test equipment and record data.
• Perform electrical work on ships, boats, and marine equipment.
• Maintain engineering data records, perform calculations, and plot data.
• Conduct routine tests (tensile, hardness) and operate test equipment.
