Job summary
Prism Maritime, LLC in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Fiber Optics Technician I to support shipboard and shore installations. The job requires basic photonics knowledge and hands-on use of fiber-optic tools and connectors.

Qualifications
- Must have NAVSEA training modules completed.
- OSHA 10 Maritime Card required.
- HS diploma or GED and 2 years of related shipboard installation experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine fiberoptic tasks under supervision or from procedures.
- Identify and install/remove FOICB equipment with hand tools.
- Build fiber optic connectors (ST/SC/LC).
- Prepare for blown optical fiber installations.
- Assist in FO testing with VFLs, loss meters and OTDRs.
- Work with crew and follow installation routing criteria.
- Travel outside local area may be required.
- Overtime, including weekends, may be required.
