Job summary

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is seeking an Ordinary Seaman/Laborer to support a DoD program at Naval Station Norfolk.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with duties that encompass basic seamanship, equipment handling, and ship support for Navy watercraft. Candidates must have a High School diploma, a valid driver's license, US citizenship, the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience performing basic seamanship duties.
• Familiarity with small boat operation and line handling.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insured for company vehicles.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks and other conveyances.
• Move supplies by wheelbarrow or hand truck.
• Launch and recover boats and support underway missions.
• Capable of basic seamanship and ship’s crew duties.
• Assist in preparation and maintenance of Navy watercraft.
